Visiting Hours

Our visitors policy exists to provide comfort, rest, safety and security to all patients while promoting emotional well-being that supportive family and friends may provide. Please observe the following general guidelines:

Visiting hours for inpatient units are 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., but those hours may vary depending on patients’ needs.

At 8:30 p.m. each night, the PBX operator will announce that visiting hours are over and that overnight visitors must request passes available from the nursing station or Security.

Visitors who stay after 8:30 p.m. must receive a visitor’s pass from the on-duty security officer.

Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by an adult at all times and may visit until 8:30 p.m., except with isolation patients.

We ask that you please limit visitors to two at a time.

Visitors are discouraged from using the patient’s restroom, and should instead use public restrooms.

Visitors who are interfering with patient care may be asked to leave the patient’s room.

When a room is occupied by two patients, only one visitor may remain in the room overnight and shall be of the same sex, except in extenuating circumstances and with the permission of the roommate and the House Supervisor.

Information specific to other units within the Medical Center are as follows:

Critical Care
The Critical Care Unit permits visitors when the patient’s condition allows it except between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors are asked to use the intercom outside the main entrance doors before entering a patient’s room.

Obstetrics/Newborns
The Obstetrics Department permits visitors when the patient’s condition allows it. Healthy siblings of the newborn may visit with adult supervision. We discourage visits by children other than the newborn’s siblings due to the possibility of exposure of the newborn to a communicable disease or infection.

Pediatrics
Visiting hours in the Pediatric Unit are 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. We require 24-hour support from a parent or guardian.

Behavioral Health
The Behavioral Health Unit allows visitors during the following times:

Monday through Friday
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, Sunday & Holidays
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Children 13 and under may visit only on Sundays and Holidays.
