Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center is an outpatient laboratory and diagnostic
facility that also houses Behavioral Health Outpatient Services. The
facility is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Laboratory services available include:
- Drug Screens. We offer a number of drug screens
to local industries and businesses.
- Breath Alcohol Testing. This test measures the
percentage of alcohol in a person's breath.
- Blood Draw. These services include routine laboratory
tests recommended by your physician.
Diagnostic services available include:
- Bone Densitometry. This special type of X-ray
measures the calcium content in the bones and is useful
for assessing an individual's risk for bone fractures.
It is very low dose and can be used as a screening for
osteoporosis or to monitor the positive effects of certain
medications on bone mineral density.
- Mammography. A mammogram is an X-ray of the
breast that can reveal a small lump up to two years before
it can be felt. Mammograms may also be performed at Ephraim
McDowell Regional Medical Center and on board the mobile
mammography van. A baseline mammogram should be done
before the age of 40, and a screening exam every other
year to age 50, then every year after that.
- X-ray. This is a film of any body part that
assists physicians in making a diagnosis.
- EKG. This test records the patient's heart rate
for a short period of time.
- Holter Monitor. This 24-hour monitor records
the heart's electrical activity for 24 hours while you
perform your usual activities at home or at work.
- Open MRI is now available at Ephraim McDowell
Diagnostic Center, located at 101 Daniel Drive in Danville.
The new Open MRI provides the comfort and convenience
that patients expect, and all images are read by board-certified
radiologists.
