Psychiatry
Psychiatry deals with understanding
and treating mental illness,
emotional disorders, stress-related conditions and personality
functions. The psychiatrist has earned an M.D. degree
and spent four years of continued education in a residency
program. Many psychiatrists do not adhere to one particular
method of treatment but use a variety of methods, depending
on the individual being treated. Treatment methods
include individual, group and family therapies, educational
programs and activity and medication therapies.
