General Surgery
Surgical techniques are used to repair, reconstruct and correct deformities, defects and diseased
parts of the body. To provide the best care, a surgeon participates in the preoperative care of
the patient, conducting examinations, clinical tests and X-rays. General
surgeons must complete a minimum of five years of surgical training beyond
medical school.
