Dermatology
A dermatologist diagnoses and treats diseases of
the skin, hair, nails and other accessible
linings of the body. A graduate of medical
school, a dermatologist also must complete a
four-year residency training program. A dermatologist
has knowledge of internal medicine in order to properly
evaluate any relationships between an external symptom
of a disease and the body as a whole. Various methods
of diagnosis and treatment such as internal and external
medications, electro-surgical procedures and liquid nitrogen
are used in this specialty.
