Anesthesiology
This specialty deals primarily with monitoring vital signs and the
administration of anesthetic drugs during surgery. In addition to
completing all requirements to earn an M.D. degree, an anesthesiologist
must complete requirements for study and training in clinical and
non-clinical anesthesia. The Department of Anesthesia at Ephraim McDowell
Regional Medical Center offers services including general and regional
anesthesia for inpatient and outpatient services, block clinic for pain
control and consultation for respiratory care and ventilation services.
