Volunteer Opportunities
Do you enjoy being around other people and have free
time to share with others? Would you like to give
something back to your community? We would love for
you to share your time and talents by volunteering at
Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Our volunteers
play an important role in helping
us provide quality health care to our patients. Many
opportunities are available for our volunteers to make
a difference in someone's life, and the rewards of volunteering
are just as numerous.
You may volunteer during daytime, evening or weekend
hours. Before you volunteer, we will orient you to
your responsibilities. Each year, about 150
volunteers give nearly 17,000 hours of service to
the Medical Center.

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center Auxiliary
The Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center Auxiliary
is geared toward individuals with a warm heart who
find purpose and joy in helping others. Our Auxiliary
has served Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center
since 1955, through both volunteer service and fund-raisers.
We have about 350 members, and always welcome new
members.
The Auxiliary's first gift to Ephraim McDowell Regional
Medical Center was an oxygen tent, which was purchased
for $525 in 1959. Since then, the Auxiliary has made
annual gifts to the Medical Center.
The Auxiliary offers a Health Care Scholarship annually. The
scholarship is awarded to a Danville High School, Kentucky
School for the Deaf and Boyle County High School senior
pursuing a career in health care.
The Auxiliary also offers a Sherry Colleen Durbin Memorial
Scholarship, which was established in 1993. Sherry Colleen
Durbin was a Boyle County High School student who died
as the result of a trampoline accident. The scholarship is awarded to a high school student interested in pursuing a career in health care.
The Auxiliary also supports the E-card Greeting service
provided to patients hospitalized at Ephraim McDowell
Regional Medical Center. Volunteers print and deliver
the E-card Greetings to patients daily Monday
through Friday.
Dues for Auxiliary membership are $4 for active members,
$5 for Associate members and $100 for life membership.
For more information about the Auxiliary and how you
can become a member, please call Linda Tillman at (859)239-1208
