Rehabilitation Services
 Sometimes
an illness or injury can leave an individual unable
to function as they once did. Perhaps a stroke has
impaired your speech, or an automobile accident has
prevented you from using one of your arms and it's
just not as strong as the other arm. Our comprehensive
rehabilitation services can help you return to maximum
functioning ability following your illness or injury.
Our rehabilitation services are available
to individuals of all ages. Inpatient services are
provided at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center
while outpatient services are available at McDowell
Wellness Center and Lincoln Physical Therapy in Stanford.
Our Kids Can Do Pediatric
Therapy Center is located
at 440 Whirl-A-Way Drive in Danville. We also offer Ephraim McDowell Spine Physical Therapy at 236 West Main Street, Suite 204, in Danville.
Rehabilitation services include:
Physical Therapy. When you have
been disabled by an injury or illness, our physical
therapists can use a variety of techniques to assist
in your recovery. These include electrotherapy, therapeutic
exercise, mobilization and manual therapy, wound care
and pain management techniques.
Occupational
Therapy. We help restore patients to an independent
level of functioning through our occupational therapy
techniques, which include training in the skills of
daily living, increasing upper extremity function, using
assistive devices and adaptive equipment and training in energy conservation, splint fabrication and work simplification.
Speech/Language Pathology. Our highly-trained
speech and language pathologists evaluate and treat
communication disorders, including oral and written
language, speech production and use of voice and stuttering
as well as swallowing disorders. We also have
speech therapists certified in Vita Stim Therapy, the
newest technique in treating swallowing disorders.
Industrial Rehabilitation -
Our therapists offer a variety of special programs
to address issues of injury prevention and injured
worker rehabilitation. Injured worker programs include
clinical rehabilitation based on diagnosis and job-specific
work conditioning programs.
