Pastoral Care
When you are a patient in the hospital, you’ll find comfort in knowing that an on-site chaplain is available to address your spiritual needs. Our chaplain can help to ease your mind about your illness or the tests you will undergo, helping you find peace and comfort that will aid your recovery. The Pastoral Care Services department is committed to respecting your beliefs. In addition to two chaplains, Pastoral Care Services utilizes a volunteer chaplains program to ensure that spiritual care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We also welcome your personal minister to provide pastoral care at his or her convenience.
We encourage our patients and visitors to use our quiet spaces as needed. A Chapel is located on the ground floor of the new South Wing off the Figg Alley entrance. Meditation rooms are available on the fifth floor near the stairwell and on the third floor across from Room 330.
Bibles are available in each bedside table of our patient rooms. Spanish New Testaments are available at each nursing station or upon request from the chaplains at extension 1214 or 2416. If you prefer another sacred text, we will do what we can to accommodate your preferences.
Dial-A-Prayer
Our chaplains are available to pray with you, and you also have the option of dialing extension 1215 to hear a recorded prayer. The message changes daily. You may also use this extension to leave a prayer request or to request a chaplain’s visit.
