Medical/Surgical Services
When you need to be hospitalized because of an illness
or injury or after undergoing surgery, you want a comfortable
environment in which to recover. That's exactly what
you will find from the caring and attentive nurses who
staff our Medical/Surgical Services.
Medical/Surgical Services are provided on both the third
floor and fifth floor of our Medical Center. Our third-floor
unit serves patients of all ages and includes pediatrics,
oncology, medical/surgical, cardiac and orthopedics.
Our fifth-floor unit serves those same adult patients.
Many times, patients discharged from our critical care
unit are transferred to our fifth-floor unit due to
its proximity to the critical care unit.
Our nurses are highly skilled to help patients recover
from illnesses, injuries or surgeries so you can be
discharged home or transferred for further care. If
you are hospitalized because of a new illness, such
as stroke, diabetes or congestive heart failure, our
nursing staff will educate you and your family on managing
that illness once you are discharged.
Many of our nurses are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
and work closely with specialized physicians to provide
optimal attention and compassionate care.
