Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center has established the Central Kentucky Surgery Center as a joint venture with local physicians.
The Central Kentucky Surgery Center, located on West Main Street, offers three procedure rooms, four operating rooms, eight pre-op bays and 13 PACU bays. The facility is multi-specialty and performs outpatient cases. Services are provided Monday through Friday. Scheduling and registration is on-site.
Patient populations: Outpatient surgery procedures are provided with a patient mix ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Work environment: Fast-paced, customer-focused and team-oriented.
Skill mix: Surgical techs scrub cases and RNs circulate among patients. RNs are cross-trained in pre-op/PACU. All RNs are ACLS certified and at least one PALS-certified RN is available when pediatric patients are provided care.
