Adults and geriatric patients may face challenges related
to changing situations or behavior. Some life changes
may result in psychiatric or behavioral symptoms that affect
their ability to cope.
Our 23-bed Behavioral Health Unit offers a safe, secure
environment and a comprehensive array of inpatient services
for individuals facing psychiatric challenges.
Patient populations: We treat individuals
with a variety of illnesses including mood and thought
disorders as well as anxiety disorders and individuals
with dementia who experience sudden changes in behavior.
Treatment team: Behavioral Health Services
are provided by a multidisciplinary treatment team consisting
of a licensed psychiatrist, psychiatric nursing staff,
clinical social worker, activity therapist, pharmacist,
physical and occupational therapists and a licensed dietitian. Our team approaches
care from various healthcare perspectives to provide personalized care that returns
our patients to their families and communities as quickly as possible.

Patient Referral: Patients may be admitted
24 hours a day, seven days a week, by self-referral, a physician,
general hospital staff or a nursing home referral. Referrals
are also accepted from therapists, human service agencies
or patient family members. |
